William Paul
Bennett
Aug 26, 1953 — Oct 10, 2021
William "Bill" Paul Bennett , 68, of Harleysville, PA; formerly of Hatfield, PA & Lansdale, PA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Abington-Lansdale Hospital.
He was the loving husband of Sharon A. (Miller) Bennett for 50+ years. Bill was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania to the late William L. Bennett and the late Mary (Smith) Bennett.
He attended North Penn High School but left early to go work in his father's business, "Bennett's Market" in North Wales. He then was employed as a manager for Clemens Markets (now known as Clemens Food Group) in Lansdale for more than 30 years. Bill then worked as manager for Landis Supermarket in Telford, as a youth pastor for Branch Community Church in Harleysville, and lastly as a manager for Henning's Market in Harleysville.
He was a member of the Interchurch Bowling League in Lansdale, a founder of Crossfire Ministries in Hatfield, and a longtime coach and commissioner of the Lansdale Little League.
Bill was an active member of the former Lansdale Schwenkfelder Church as well as Church of the Open Door in Ft. Washington, Branch Community Church in Harleysville, and Sanctuary Methodist Church in North Wales.
He loved spending time with his family especially the grandchildren in which he would provide them with an abundance of cookies and candy. He enjoyed going to the mountains with his family in Wellsboro, PA, playing golf, camping, listening to worship music, and cheering for all the Philadelphia sports teams.
He was an advocate for the sick and the needy. Bill also had a big heart towards youth and teens for their salvation and spiritual growth. He was a dedicated letter writer, enjoyed being outdoors in nature, and was a huge lover of Diet Coke.
Bill was a hardworking, driven yet generous man who had a passionate love for his family and a great sense of humor. He cared deeply for his wife, regularly making sure she was taken care of long before he ever thought of himself.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Carrie A. Trigg & fiancee, Fran Quirion of Lititz, PA, Kevin W. Bennett & wife, Jill of Souderton, PA, & Kimberly "Kim" S. Seiler & husband, Andrew "Andy" of Hatfield, PA; his 12 grandchildren; and his four sisters.
At the request of the family, there will be NO services.
