Staff members of Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.

Larry Anders

Owner/Funeral Director

Larry has been involved in the funeral service industry since 1966 where he started in West End Chapels in Manhatten, New York while attending the American Academy of McAllister's Institute of Mortuary Science (AAMI). In 1967, He graduated Magnum Cum Laude from AAMI and in the fall began to work for Griffith-Cline Funeral Homes in Bradenton, FL where he became a licensed Florida funeral director. In 1973, Larry came to Souderton and worked one year under Paul M. Hunsicker until he purchased the funeral home. He enjoys flying and holds a commercial instrument rating. Larry and his wife, Joyce are active members of Immanuel Leidy's Church in Souderton. They have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Ashley Anders

Owner/Funeral Director

Ashley was born and raised around the funeral home industry since he was a young boy. In 1997, after graduating Manatee High School in Bradenton, FL; he returned to start his college training at the Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA. Ashley has been a licensed funeral director since 2002. Prior to being licensed, he did his internship with the Burg Funeral Home of Red Lion, PA for 1 year after graduating college in December of 2000. He returned to his hometown, Souderton, in 2002 and has been in partnership with his father in the family business. Ashley and his two daughters attend Calvary Church of Souderton. He enjoys working with computers, music/DJ and spending time with his family.

Dennis Detweiler

Pre-Need Specialist/Funeral Director

Dennis was born and raised in the Souderton area. He has been involved in the funeral service industry from 1970 to 1988 in upstate New York. Dennis returned to the local area in 1988 and joined Larry Anders to form the Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home. He is the husband of the late Dorothy (Wismer) Detweiler, the father of 3 daughters and enjoys spending time with his 7 grandchildren.

Barb Finley

Office Manager

Barb was born and raised in Souderton, living in the area her whole life. She has held office management positions since 1978. Joining our firm in 2015, Barb brings both organizational and managerial skills to our office. Being a people person, her outgoing personality and commitment to detail is a real asset to our team. Barb is the wife of Ron Finley, who together, have raised four children. She enjoys spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Barb and Ron attend Calvary Church of Souderton.
